All prayer is a relationship with God. Centering Prayer is a method designed to facilitate the development of contemplative prayer by preparing our faculties to receive the gift of this prayer form.
Centering Prayer does not replace other ways to pray; rather, it deepens the experience of God’s presence in them. It teaches us to deeply consent to the presence and action of God in our lives, and letting our Lord love us. In this Centering Prayer Introductory workshop you’ll learn the method and principles of this prayer practice and have the opportunity to experience this ancient method in a quiet, reflective atmosphere. The workshop covers the history, psychology, and theology and includes prayer sessions along with Questions and Answers. Four conferences and two periods of Centering Prayer experiences are provided as follows:
Presented by Mike Smoolca, an experienced contemplative prayer practitioner, is Coordinator of the Connecticut Chapter of Contemplative Outreach, a Centering Prayer facilitator, a Commissioned Contemplative Outreach presenter and student of Contemplative practices.
